I swear when I read these series of brothers and 1 sister I always adore the sister’s story. I love the protective big brothers. But, I love when their little feisty sister stands up to them too! Haha! Fake dating. Childhood best friends to lovers. Family drama. Romantic suspense. Best friend’s sister / brother’s best friend. The narrators were great in the audio! I’m not surprised I’m loving this series! 😍

I read this back in August while on vacay and forgot to leave a review. It wasn't a CC fav, and I remember wanting more backstory.

I love how Catherine writes and with the cliche of brother best friend she has won me completely.
Grace and Caden won my heart, I really wanted to know their past and see more of their present to be able to see how everything progressed and it doesn't disappoint!
Their banter and chemistry was too much!!!
Grae and Caden have always had feelings but everything changes when a family tragedy happens and Grae is diagnosed with diabetes, as a result Caden disappears a lot from her life.

Guys, you have to read this book

Saying goodbye to Cedar Ridge…
Caden has always been a big part of Grae’s life but admitting she had feelings for him was never in the cards for her. He is his brother’s best friend and sometimes he acts like her 5th brother. Times changed and suddenly she lost Caden, the one person she felt like let her live her life like she wanted. She never got an explanation. And then he left for New York. Caden lost his sister and it has taken a toll on him ever since. He never truly wanted to accept how much this had hurt, so he started building a wall around everyone. Coming back from New York was hard. He had to face the one person again, and he struggled the most to keep his walls up. Being back here also means he needs to work closer with his brother and his father. Which is worse than living far away from all his friends and his mother. Grae hates that Caden is back and seems to be all over her life. She is so done with him. But it seems like a new guy has taken an interest in her. She on the other hand doesn’t see a future with him. And Rance is not planning on taking the hint. Caden and Grae have a lot of history to unpack.
I will miss Cedar Ridge. These stories make me forget the world around me. I lived for Grae and Caden. Also finished the book in 24 hours. Being on vacation has its perks;) I love the brother’s best friend trop because the secrecy gives the whole story even more tension. I didn’t expect to get so mad and upset with Caden’s family but I guess they deserved it. Also, all the women in this town had such bad luck in love before. Like no doubt, if they didn’t find their forever partner in the Hartle’s / Shaw’s I might think they are cursed! Grae is a badass and doesn’t mind speaking her mind. Which comes in handy having so many brothers. But when it comes to talking about her feelings she seems to need the comfort of Caden. And Caden never got to admit to himself how he feels about the loss and his family. Grae holds his hand through that discovery. Watching them grow was such an amazing thing. And of course, it took the turn it took. And we could not have a Cathrine Cowles book without a bit of a twist or should I say 2? ;)
