This was a beautiful read and I couldn't let go of the book in the last chapters.
I know it's a work of fiction, but when it depicts something so absolutely heartbreaking, at times almost unbearable to read, I don't want to give out an opinion - I feel like it doesn't really matter.

The last six words of the book are absolutely beautiful, as is the rest of it of course - although beautiful is not the word I'd choose. It'll stay in my head and in my heart a while.

Incredible book!!
For WWII historical fiction fans, this is one of the best books you could get your hands on.
The story, the characters, the journey, the writing are all absolutely beautiful. This book has me up all night, reading in the car, on the edge of my seat, and weeping.

This book and All the Light we Cannot See are meant for the same people and will remain on my favorite books of all time list.
I will reread this book many more times.

An incredibly well written WWII story. Not an easy read of course,  but  my favourite WWII story I’ve read to date. Also the first book ever to make me properly cry - the writing really draws you in and connects you with the time and the characters. Definitely recommend
