The one star review I found of this that made me laugh said that this was the Temu version of The Deal, and since I did not enjoy The Deal, I wanted to see how bad it could be.  Honestly, some parts were better but most was the same or worse.

There was no explicit statement of “not like other girls”, nor was there thoughts or comments from Daisy that girls that hook up with jocks are trash.  The Deal was pretty heavy with the slut shaming, so I was pleased to see so little of it in this book.  I also thought most of the background characters, predominantly those that Jordan knew, were well written for the amount of time they were in the page.

However, it’s pretty much everything else that I didn’t like.  I felt no chemistry between Daisy & Jordan, and their relationship was just awkward - she was so boring and much of his POV gave me the ick.  He’s a manwhore who’ll sleep with any woman that’ll have him, and she’s an inexperienced tiny wallflower that acts like the walls that wallflowers lean against.  These two characters did not feel fully fleshed out and they, along with Daisy’s friends, felt like generic characters - manwhore jock, shy smart girl, jock hating best friend.

This was just not for me.  I think that College/University romances are going to be 50/50 for me - there’s some that I’ve really enjoyed but then there’s those that I’ve really not enjoyed, and I’m generally not going to be able to tell until I read them.

Really loved this book, and now I love sports romance! Felt so grounded in reality and such a great buildup to the relationship in the book. Overall just a cute, sexy, and fun college sports romance with some spice!

This was my first Rebecca Jenshack, and I really enjoyed it! She’s been on my radar for a while and particularly this series has been. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the girls stories soon! I listened to the audio and thought the narrators Emma Wilder and Lee Samuels did a great job.

This book was very enjoyable, until i got to the
third act break up
. It has a bit of miscommunication in it, so if you're not a fan of it, like me, then you can easily skip this one.
