This book has the most stunning imagery and compelling plot I have read in years. Reminded me of how much I love to escape into a story.

naïveté has never been an endearing trait in a protagonist. also this wins for least interesting romance ever. like i do not care about them. forgot just how badly the romance was written (read this in 9th grade) but wow... chapter 54 was so so annoying and grating to read.

prose is overly pretty. i only really care about thyon nero and ruza and tzara and calixte so really anyone except the blue ones and lazlo

I am devestated. I soooo wanted to love this. Don't get me wrong, it's different and it's beautiful. It slowly gets into your brain so you will never forget it.
But slowly is the important word here... it starts getting somewhat interesting at the 90% mark (this book is over 500 pages let me remind you), I was about to DNF it, but now I need to read the next one thanks to this ending.
I'm not happy about this. So let's go start it right away.
