Most times when a new author takes over the writing for a beloved character, the change is not a cohesive one. I tend to shy away from changes like this for the very reason that I want to stay in love with the story. Thankfully, Tobin stayed true enough to the characterization of Geralt that it didn’t feel like a complete disconnect from the world I know and love.
The artwork alone makes the read worthwhile. Querio created a style that fit well with the story and added an element that brought the entire novel to a higher level. Many times, for me at least, either it feels that the story is lacking or the artwork isn’t up to snuff, House of Glass didn’t fit either of those. It was, overall, very well done.
I’m not sure where House of Glass falls on the timeline of Geralt’s life. It seems that it may be pre-Yennefer but it doesn’t really address it. I wish there had been more clarification, however, it doesn’t really detract from the story itself. I still highly recommend the read and I will definitely be continuing with the comic series.

I've played the Witcher games but haven't touched the novels. From what I understand the graphic novels are separate from either of them, but united in that they're about Geralt of Rivia, and have the same lore. Good stuff, can't wait to keep reading the next volumes.

The story feels a bit unfocused and after rereading, I still don't know what to think about Vara. It's not that I hate her, but her addition to the story feels unnecessary. I like the twist in the story tough, I didn't expect it while reading the comic for the first time.
The cover art is awesome and the panels are great too. Especially some of the in-between panels have a pretty and artsy vibe. The composition and dynamic of the panels is very good too. My only critique regarding the art style would be about the depiction of women. They are portrayed quite sexualised, half naked, big lips and arms thin like twigs. Kinda like the unhealthy thin supermodels from the early 2000's but with big boobs
