I remember later in the book numbers that this series got really weird, but I did not remember the specific weirds in this book. Thankfully the books are still a quick read, because this book in particularly there was a lot of 'luckily x happened so I could yz' and just a bunch of things being explained away much too conveniently, and mostly because their luck/coincidence was pointed out by the author/narrator. The roundabout method of solving the ending problem also seemed like the lazy difficult way (i.e. creating more work by being too lazy to address the actual/more direct problem) that should not have been handled as such by adults who have been around forever (though that very fact implies they are sticks in the mud when it comes to change, so...) Not cringe enough for me to jump ship, but getting close.

I love this series even if it becomes a little predictable, but still holds its own surprises. I even cried a little bit during this one and hope to see more of the wolves later.

I don’t really fully know what to say about the sixth book in this series. I cried. I wanted to go into the book and slap the characters, but I also wanted to wait and see where it went. When reading about Arra dying I wanted to stop reading because it was a heartbreaking part to read because she was a most respected vampire and it was hard to earn her respect and in the end Darren earned it.

This series just keeps getting better as it goes. In this one Darren braves his death to save the vampire race. The first true bloody battle of the Vampeneze and the vampires start and many die. Including 2 of my favorite characters. The mystery of the Vampeneze Lord is finally starting to come to light and so much more. The ending through me for a loop and it was a great conclusion to an already incredible book. RECOMMENDED!!!
