Camilla lived a peaceful life with her parents in Leptis Magna, now Libya, until her father gets summoned by the emperor. The journey takes her to Rome and then to Brittania where her father becomes the Emporer's personal doctor. Camilla loses many things she loves but also gains friendships to last her a lifetime. When I picked this book up I thought it was going to be a short, light read but was pleaseantly surprised! I love to read books about Ancient Rome and this might have been the best book set in that time period that I have ever read. I also loved the structure of this book, I was a little confused on how it was going to work at the start but I just loved how it all came together at the end. I think that the main idea of this book was Camilla's journey to find home again. Five stars!!
