I’m torn because the mystery had me shook and I actually liked the pacing but clearly the author had a hidden agenda

How can people be disappointed in this book? Yes- I saw the recommendation from TikTok that led me to buy and read the book. I’m an avid reader but this book hooked me from the start and the additional visuals provided an aspect I never knew I needed. While predictable and frustrating at some points- the ending was a shock to me, but I realized all the pieces added up. It was a book that I wanted to keep reading any time I had a free moment. I plan on finding more books by this author. Happy reading.

Mallory is a recovering drug addict who gets hired to be the summertime nanny for adorable 5 year old Teddy. At first, everything seems great- the family is kind and Mallory loves Teddy! But things get weirder and weirder the longer Mallory is there as Teddy’s pictures that he draws seem to have hidden meaning in them.

I LOVED this book!! The twist was not at all what I thought it was going to be but was still a believable twist. I’m 8 months pregnant and stayed up until 11:30 last night because I had to finish this book if that tells you anything about how much I enjoyed it!

I love a good book that makes me think several times over, “wth is going on” and this book did just that. I haven’t read a book this fast in a while, but I couldn’t seem to put this one down, I had to know what happened next and I never in a million years could have predicted that ending.

I have no complaints about this book. It was a quick and easy read that had me entrapped completely. The writing was great and while Mallory’s character may have been a little unrealistic as a recovering addict, I found her character very likable and relatable.

Good suspenseful book that literally had my palms clammy as I read. Would make a great movie?

The perfect spooky read for October, you’ll need to leave the light on... Here’s my full review of Hidden Pictures…

Hidden Pictures took me back to when I read The Whisper Man—I was checking over my shoulder and had to have a light on while reading. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the end, but I personally loved it. I never saw it coming and really enjoyed that the author had me guessing the entire time about how it’d come together. And the drawings? They really bring this all together. They are FANTASTIC...ally spooky. The perfect addition to the book.
