this took me way too long to finish omfg i hate being sick 😭😭
anyways, LOVED THISSS
i love greek tragedies, they're honestly lowkey so fun 🤷♀️
i loved oedipus the king, first time reading antigone and oedipus at colonus, but they were really good too. honestly antigone might be my fav, my queen love her. she's also probably my fav character too from all of them. sadly my boy tiresius does not show up in colonus, but it's okay i survived 😔🤚
in all realness, im so glad i read this.
especially with these introductions, they added so much context to the history behind the stories which honestly made me love them more, and it also helped me to apply these irl which was crazy

I enjoyed it, and I’m glad I read it, but I didn’t love it. I think it would have been better enjoyed as a performance. It felt slow to read despite moving pretty quickly.
I liked a lot of the sassy monologues, although I think I needed more background info to appreciate some of the references. It’s a great way to study the cost of pride and humility though.

For me, the reading is elevated knowing the order these works were originally written in and the order they are presented in are different. You can see how Sophocles changed as a writer over time and, in my opinion, see what characters the writer relates to more based on his age.
