cgn's review against another edition
Listen I’m not opposed to age gap romances on principle, but when no one batted an eye at a 19-year-old saying they’d like to date the 15-year-old character after having only had two conversations with her I knew this book was not for me. Also the internalized fatphobia was very yikes.
Graphic: Fatphobia and Body shaming
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship

I read this series back in high school and felt the urge to visit it again. While older than all the characters now, it doesn’t come off too young. Meade has quite a timelessness to her writing. Adrian was always my favorite in Vampire Academy and he stars brightly in this series. It’s also nice to see expansion of the other characters.
Graphic: Injury/Injury detail, Blood, Murder, and Fire/Fire injury
Moderate: Death, Adult/minor relationship, and Alcoholism
Minor: Eating disorder, Fatphobia, and Child abuse
