The love story between Kate and Cam is effortlessly beautiful. And that makes his death all the more heartbreaking and tragic. I loved the way we got flashbacks to certain scenes and pivotal memories. What a journey.

Watching the fortitude of Kate and the earnest loyalty of Hugh was magical. My heart hurt for each of them, and Iโm so thankful for how this story concluded.
Also, a special shout out to the friendship between Kate and Grace! May every single mom have a support system like her.

This is obviously a heavier story. Iโll list the trigger warnings below, but they are a little spoiler-y, so donโt read them if you donโt like spoilers! There are also multiple humorous moments that provide much needed levity.
Overall, I definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants an emotional read!

I really loved this book. If you have lived with intense grief, then you know when someone who has also suffered is writing about it. Emma Grey writes grief incredibly well. It is both difficult and cathartic to read. I was in teas at numerous points throughout the book, but so excited to see where the journey would take the characters. Highly recommend if you are in a place where you can read an emotional, but still hopeful book.

I can only imagine the debilitating loss that comes after your spouse dies. This book captured that griefโlosing yourself, becoming a single parent, having to return to โnormalโโso well. Despite being overwhelmingly sad at times, there was still joy, humor, and a bit of romance.
Itโs a little over two years after Kateโs husband died and sheโs holding it together for her young son. Being thrown suddenly into being a single parent has forced her to grieve inwardly and only when time allows for itโwhich isnโt often. But when a work trip goes haywire, she finally has the time away from her son to process the depth of her loss.
Expect to be a bit heartbroken with this one.
