It’s a great book about finding yourself after a loss and also new romance.

This was a sweet and sad book about life after loss. I enjoyed the way the book jumped between current time and the past. Seeing how Kate navigated her husband’s diagnosis and death; then how navigated life after his loss. I liked seeing the way Hugh supported Kate through the years. And how their relationship progressed. There were some moments that made me laugh when listening. But mostly this was a tender and hopeful book.

Had a LOT of potential but missed the mark for me. I can usually handle different timelines but this was confusing and I feel it would have been a more cohesive story if told in chronological order. Plot is predictable from the beginning. I wouldn’t waste your time with this one.

This definitely tugged on my heart strings but it was a little boring for me most the time.

a solid 4 stars!

PHEEEWWWWWWW. This book. I had to recover from this book for a while after this book. I haven't cried this hard, both during *and* after a book like I did with this one. The relationship between the two leads is stunning. Friendship. Romance. Grief. Self-transformation. Self-discovery. Parenthood. It's all here. It's heavy and beautiful and just...SO MUCH.

Because of the serious nature of the themes introduced in this book, I really don't know of I can recommend this book to someone not intentionally seeking this out. But if you're ready to be emotionally destroyed for a while, this book is VERY good.
