Ok we all know to expect something sad from a book with this title. This one had me legitimately sobbing at my desk. This was a beautiful story of love and self discovery through a person's grief. I think this story could help someone through a difficult time but it also may be triggering to some readers. I truly truly loved it but I recommend with caution if you are at an emotional time in your life or just simply don't feel like a good cry.

What a beautiful love story. I almost did not read this book because it involves death and grief, which is an automatic cry session for me, but every time I read a chapter I kept wanting to read more.

Kate is a young widow experiencing debilitating grief after the death of the love of her life, and she is trying to maneuver this new life without her husband, while raising her child and embarking on the second act of her life.

The author also went through something similar, and you can tell by the writing and the way she told this story that she understands grief.

Rounding up to 4.5 ⭐️. This was such a bittersweet story full of grief and sadness but the theme of moving on doesn’t mean forgetting was powerful and poignant. I loved watching Kate opening up to the possibility of love and romance and Hugh was wonderful. The opening scene was hilarious and drew me in immediately! Full review to come.

As a reader who enjoy stories that explore themes of grief, second chances at love, and hopeful endings, I had big expectations for "The Last Love Note". It's always been a hit on Bookstagram so I went in with a bit of hype surrounding this story. Grey's novel packs a punch containing a protagonist looking to find love again after a significant loss.

Main character Kate was hard for me to like. As I read, I found myself giving her grace upon grace because of all she's been through. However, there were times when I found her to be a bit dense, which frustrated me. What I think didn't help me connecting to Kate was the clunky timeline. It was just a bit too much back and forth for me.

While this one brought many readers to tears, I was simply thrilled to reach the end and see if I had picked the right love interest (I didn't. I was incredibly wrong!).
