Bret Easton Ellis

I kinda wish there was a more distinct "climax" to the novel, but I think that that's the point--Clay's life is so bleak and all of this gore and violence is so normalized that nothing is "climactic," it simply just is. The writing itself was beyond gorgeous, like the run-on sentences work so well and I was sucked in. Took me awhile to read because I'm so drained after work, but I'm so glad I finally finished it and have a copy of it!!

Ellis was warning us of the pervasive dangers of consumerism and capitalism. I don't think we've listened.

No plot, only nihilistic and empty characters in LA, loved it.
