Well, it was the same, mostly. I'm continuing for the mythology but there still wasn't a lot of character development. Plot moves slowly and goes nowhere mostly, it's one of those ploys to make us buy the next book because the book is mostly plotless.

The love story was not convincing at all either... =/

This is so easy to read, but I am enjoying the story. There are bits of various other vampire lit in it, including some Anne Rice, which I liked.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this series. It is such a different take on vampires and has such uniqueness that you can't stop reading it.

Though I don't find de la Cruz' series as compelling as some others, I am finding myself drawn further and further into the world she creates. What's most impressive, and continues to amaze me about the series, is the way in which de la Cruz switches between narratives partway through chapters and occasionally, even through a paragraph. It's impressive and adds an interesting turn to the story which could be quite boring from solely one perspective.

Curious to read the rest of the series.

Excellent just like the first book. They're so full of suspense and just leave you wanting more! I can't wait to read Revelation.

I recomend this book to anyone who enjoyed the Twilight serries or even slightly liked it. Even if you didn't like Twilight, I still recomend this book to you. It will keep you wanting to know more and more and even more.

I know I'm being generous with my stars here, but I'm just kind of amazed at how far she's been able to go with the vampire mythology without everything devolving into total stupidity.
