This was another good addition to the Eve Duncan series. It was good to see the relationship progress after the disappearance of Bonnie was resolved in the previous book. This was another good storyline that builds on the overall relationships in Eve's life and develop a new unexpected relationship.

I am always satisfied at the end of Johansen's book in the Eve Duncan series.

This is a solid 4 out of 5 rating to me.

AS always, a great read. I especialy liked the plot development in this one. For most of the book, the reader knew who the bad guys were and kinda why they were after the good guys. What we didn't know for sure was the details of the why. I found myself wanting to protect Beth as much as Eve did. As the story develops I wanted something to happen to Nelda. I found I was happy when Rick is killed. He may have loved Beth but he was a sick bastard. That Beth got to see that before he died only made his death even better. Best part? When Beth tells Nelda that she's coming after her. I could just picture the fear that Nelda must have been feeling. I wanted to cheer for Beth (couldn't 'cause I finished the book at work) when she looks Nelda in the eye and tells she can take her down because she's her grandaughter. It was perfect. I'm also glad Beth didn't go to live with Eve. While I want them to have time to really become sisters, I also want Beth to grow. I really hope the Johansen brings Beth back in future books, and even does a few books on Beth in the same way she has with Jane. I really want to see how Beth lives.

First Thought when Finished: Iris Johansen really hit it out of the park with Sleep No More. I love the combination of Eve and Kendra!

Quick Thoughts: Sleep No More combined great characters, a masterful plot, and a quick pace to produce one heck of a read. I really enjoyed seeing Kendra (from her other series) work with Eve in this story. The added element of Eve's sister (that she didn't know about) being thrown into the mix really added oomph to the story. (NOTE: I am kind of hoping that Eve's sister becomes part of Kendra's series). Eve is a fascinating character and her growth in this book was amazing. At its heart, Sleep No More is a mystery/thriller but Iris has a way of throwing in a compelling human aspect that makes me love her books. I highly suggest checking out her work.

Audio Thoughts: Narrated by Elisabeth Rodgers (who does a fantastic job) this is a book/series that I would recommend on Audio. Elisabeth does a great job with pacing and narration of Eve and Kendra.

Final Thoughts: Sleep No More was an excellent addition to the series and I can't wait to see where it goes from here!

It's the series that isn't awful enough to give up on but not exciting enough to look forward to reading. First book with Eve's half sister and Kendra the female American Sherlock Holmes.

I think this is one of Iris Johansen's better novels. It was very fast moving and although you know who is doing the killing your never quite sure what is going to happen and who is going to be killed.

This book starts out with Sandra (Eve's mother) coming to tell Eve about Beth a sister Eve never knew she had. I don't want to tell much more of the story as it is a good read.
