First read Jan 2014

Second read Aug 2021: I skipped all the boring sex scenes and ended up enjoying this one. I find it weird how implacable, over-confident, sexually controlling men used to be all the rage in m/f romances even just a few years ago (maybe they still are - I don’t read much m/f anymore) and weirder still that I enjoyed reading about them. For a time, anyway. Still, I’m reading these to prepare for Illium’s story so I’m on to book 4.

This is the third book in the Guild Hunter’s series and I loved it as much as the first two.

Elena and Raphael return to NYC where Elena is once again tracking down killers and facing off with her father like the bada$$ hunter-turned-angel she is. I enjoyed book 2 and learning about the Angels’ refuge, but I really liked being back in New York with angels, vampires, and humans.

Raphael is my fave book bf even though I don’t think I would put up with someone like him in real life. The chemistry between him and Elena is 100% fire, and Singh writes spice sooo well.

If you enjoy adult fantasy romance, I highly recommend this series.

Still not sure I like the word 'consort' but it did grow on me a little. Seeing Raphael show her off was good.

Hmmm. Call me "crazy" but there was too much sex and not enough real Urban Fantasy action. In fact, what should've been the climax of the story was utterly anti-climactic. That said, this book gets us further into the world of this series, so it's still a worthwhile read. Featuring a cast of intriguing, beautifully developed secondary characters, the series, as a whole, is a winner which makes you look forward to the next book.
