Thank you to the publisher for the advanced copy of Fate of the Sun King!

This is the third book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series and I was really looking forward to reading this. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. At first, it was a little difficult for me to get into as I don't remember much of what happened in the last two books. It did help jog my memory a little over 20% into the book. I really enjoyed seeing Nadir and Lor's relationship in this installment. My main gripe was with the political and magical drama. A lot of it didn't feel properly fleshed out with a lot of disjointedness in the scenes. The villains were painted as the oh so dangerous ones but that didn't really translate into their actions. A lot of the time their actions felt more like cartoonish villains which didn't help in conveying the tension. There is a lot of back and forth in the current and the past events. I was interested in the past and how it ties to what is happening in the current scenario. That being said a lot of the plot felt like it needed a thorough editing which is a shame because I was very excited to read it. While it may not have met my expectations, it still offers entertainment value for those looking for a light read.

Fate of the Sun King to no one’s surprise was phenomenal. Tuli has such a great writing style. At this point, if she writes it, I’ll read it. The plot was superb full of mind blowing twists and jaw dropping revelations. The found family, though, may be my absolute favorite aspect of Fate of the Sun King. I loved the exploration of the relationship between Lor and Nadir in this installment. We’ve been dealing with a slow burn that’s payoff was more than worth it. I also loved the clues that Tuli wove through the previous books in addition to this one that hinted at where their relationship would ultimately go. What I wasn’t ready for, though, was the heartbreak this story would bring about. The backstory to the title alone is absolutely devastating. We’re not even going to touch on the ending of the book – I’m not sure I’m ready to forgive Tuli yet for that one or even begin processing it. One thing I’m all in for is more Gabriel especially out for revenge Gabriel. I was hoping he would get a truly impressive arc and boy did Tuli deliver on that front. I also appreciated getting to travel to more places and receive more backstory to Ouranos as a whole. Do yourself a favor and pick up this amazing story. Now I’m going to be impatiently waiting for the epic finale to the series, Tale of the Heart Queen.

If there is one thing you need to know about Nisha J Tuli, it is that she can concoct top-tier cliffhangers. If there is a second thing you need to know about Nisha J Tuli, it's that she's gonna be the reigning queen of fantasy romance. I don't think I have gotten into any fantasy romance books the way that I have gotten into The Artefacts of Ouranos books.

Fate of the Sun King is the third book in the series, and good grief, it delivers. The first book established the world and the characters, the second book raised the stakes and showed us what the big deal is, and this book dives into mystery, deception, betrayals, and revelations. Each book I like better and better. (Plus, there are Gabriel POV chapters. What more could you ask for?)

Maybe my favorite thing about this series and Tuli's writing is that the books cut off perfectly. I am always left wanting more, and not knowing what the heck is about to happen, I love that for me.

Thanks to Netgalley and Forever for the e-ARC!

"Ask me, and I’ll slay anyone for you. Burn the world to ash if you desire.”

Finally! This is the book that we have been waiting for, since The Trials of the Sun Queen released. I flew through this in a day. Nisha does it again, and keeps us at the edge of our seats while revealing information that turns the story around and simply blows our minds. The chemistry between Lor and Nadir just gets better and better. That ending though is just pure torture.  How we are supposed to wait until The Tale of the Heart Queen in November, I have no idea.

I love so many things about this book;
- The glossary is great and absolutely hilarious
- the growth of the characters and their relationships, I don't want to say too much here so as not to spoil it
- Gabriel's POV as it added so much to the story - that revelation is just.. wow
- Nadir - this needs no explanation - everything about him is perfect

Pick this up if you are a fan of:-
- excellent world building
- strong FMC
- the perfect morally grey MC
- fated mates
- slow burn and the perfect tension building

I simply can not wait for The Tale

Firstly, I am so thankful to Netgalley and Forever Grand Central Publishing for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I was so excited to get a copy of this book, I had recently read the first two books in this series and I really enjoyed them, so when I saw this book available on Netgalley, I dove for it.

I did really enjoy watching our characters finalize the dance of tension that has been hovering between them since the start of the series. The hovering feelings of need, desire, Chemistry and lust between Lor and Nadir exploded into one of the most amazing crescendos. Their relationship and character development just kept growing and I loved their arcs.

I did enjoy the additional POV’s and glimpses from the past that gives you better understanding of the history of the world. I think that the previous books failed at giving decent world building but that’s made up for in some ways with this installment into the series. Getting out of the two Kingdoms that we’ve been stuck in and being able to explore Ouranos was one of the best parts of this book.

I will say that the cliffhanger was a bit... frustrating. We are introduced to information that counteracts what we have been given previously and it feels a little like a cop out. It just feels like it was given just as shock factor and not really as part of the characters that we have come to know and love. Granted, the person who delivered the information is a known liar so its most likely just a ploy, but I didn’t like the way that it was introduced.

Overall, this was a good continuation of the series and I will be reading book four as soon as it comes out

I received this book as an eARC on NetGalley and I just finished it. I could NOT put this book down. This is my favorite one of the entire series. It is nonstop action and suspense. The romance kicks up a notch from book 2 and goes on a rollercoaster ride. I love the royal political intrigue. I am absolutely STUNNED, FLOORED, and TRAUMATIZED by that ending. Now I am counting down the days until book 4 comes out. I'm not sure how I will continue living my life normally until I get my hands on book 4!

Fate of the Sun King starts up right where Rule of the Aurora King ends. We follow Lor and Nadir as they discover more about Lor's past and who they are to each other. The ending had several twists that I fully was not expecting and now I will remain unwell until I can get my hands on book 4! What is really going on?!

I loved the return of Gabriel and his POV, as well as his backstory. The flashbacks to various important figures in Ouranos helped provide context to the larger picture. I'm also pretty obsessed with Nadir. Yup, obsessed.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher/author for an eARC of this book for an honest review.

I had only finished 'Rule of the Aurora King' earlier this week, when I spotted 'Fate of the Sun' was available to request on Netgalley. Crossing my fingers, I applied for an arc and yes, did a little happy dance when I was approved. Returning to the world of Lor and Nadir? Woohoo!
Now, 'Fate of the Sun King' is the third novel in the 'Artefacts of Ouranos' series. The storyline commences from the end of the second book, 'Rule of the Aurora King' and we dive straight into the action.
Our adventure commences in 'Trial of The Sun Queen' when a young woman named Lor is kidnapped from jail in The Aurora and taken to Aphelion to participate in a bizarre series of Trials. And the prize? Marriage to the Sun King. The Trials, and their inherently dangerous nature, has given rise to the book being described as The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor and this is an accurate description. Lor is at a disadvantage in comparison to the other competitors and struggles to survive.
In book two, 'Rule of the Aurora King ', Lor's bid to escape the clutches of the Sun King, while also avoiding the pursuit of the Aurora King. The level of world building is increased in this book - through recollections of Serce, the reader is provided with the knowledge of how Lor's family went into hiding and just why she is wanted by both King's.
Now, it's possible to dive into the storyline from any book. The author, Nisha J Tuli has provided sufficient reference points, without giving away too much of the story. But I would recommend starting with 'Trials of the Sun Queen' to understand the characters's journey. And how our motley crew fit together.
As the principal storyline has been well-established by book 3, 'Rule of the Aurora King', so the author devotes numerous chapters to delving into the beginning of Ouranos and the growth of magic. For me, this addition was crucial to the storyline  - events are becoming complex and the background makes the overall storyline come compelling.
Lor and Nadir are agonising over their relationship, while trying to avoid the attentions of their enemies. They are slowly piercing together the truth about the Heart Queen and Lor's family.
Unfortunately, they also need to sneak into the territory of one enemy and this event leads to an absolute cliffhanger of a conclusion. Honestly, I'm still going, "What? How? Oh my god" after that final paragraph.

This story is also very spicy so be warned if that's not for you. But it's also funny, fast paced, with a wry commentary on social issues (class) and very much worth a read.

I'm excited for the conclusion to arrive later this year.

Massive thank you to the author and publisher for an ARC copy of this book!

Secondly, KDOSUIDHBVNOAHNO. If Nisha J Tuli has one fan, it's me. If she has no fans, I'm dead, quite in the same way this book left me.

I've said this in every NJT review, and I'll keep saying it: the writing and storytelling is BEYOND phenomenal. The banter, the action, the angst, the one offs, literally everything about this book is perfection. I've long anticipated this sequel, and I am once again dying for the final installment.

Lor's growth is phenomenal to witness, and the way she navigates the changing environment of royals she has no experience with is beautiful. She's not your typical heroine that needs someone to step in. She is *still* her own fucking castle.

If it was possible for Nadir to get even more broody and angsty, NJT delivered him wrapped with a satin bow. This man is categorically a simp and I am here for it.

In this novel, we get Gabriel's POV and let me tell you, that man goes THROUGH it. No spoilers, but it tugged my heartstrings for him.

The only reason I put this book down was to feed my kids, and then it was right back to devouring it as fast as I could. I cannot scream into the Void enough about this book and author in general. Absolutely breathtaking work, as usual.

My fave nonspoilery quotes:
"He makes me feel things I never expected to feel. Safe. Wanted. Beautiful. Like my flaws aren't a series of mistakes but rather the essential pieces that make me who I am."
"When you've been treated like nothing for most of your life, it's easy to forget that you're something."
"I've always wanted to be the sort of woman who makes monsters kneel. Who brings down empires. Who holds the world in her hand. And for the first time in my life, it feels like it's within reach."

Happy reading to all who participate, I'll get some tissues
