I LOVE that this book is about designing games, I had no clue and it’s so so interesting. It feels so intricate and detailed I really enjoyed it. As a girlfriend of a gamer I feel I do not appreciate how incredibly complex and interesting games are. I play animal crossing, sims and the occasional farming game but never think how much work is put into them.
Such a beautiful and complicated way of portraying the different kinds of love and friendship. Makes me yearn for a friendship this intertwined and intense.
I don’t think I’ve ever read or even come across a book like this. I truly believe the internet worked its magic (it was EVERYWHERE) in making this novel popular (besides of course how brilliant it is) because it’s so niche and out of my realm of interest. Honestly if the blurb gave me more information I probably would have put it back ! But I absolutely tore through it.
I feel very attached to this book, I want to tell everyone to read this. Also the mention of harvest moon had me kicking my feet!! That game was my jam when I was little. Maybe I’m reigniting a passion for gaming? Did I ever really have one? This book is under my skin. So many thrilling mini stories throughout the narrative. The secret highways, the 3 Anna Lee’s. I felt like I was inside Sam’s mind.
I really enjoyed exploring friendship,I was engrossed - took the book to a whole new level.
LOVE Zoe - our naked composer queen. Very healthy way of expressing pure passion and joy in a persons hobbies and work.
Honestly, I found Sadie hard to like, I didn’t understand why exactly she’s so angry with Sam? It’s giving the me the same feeling Normal People did - please just communicate properly !!!!
