It’s weird that Scar guy isn’t really in this book but he’s on the cover. It would have made more sense to put a young Al and Edward since a good portion of this book is telling their backstory.

I am so glad that my husband asked me to read this anime series. I’ve come to adore the Elric brothers and their quest to become fully real again. Arakawa has such a great sense of humor and portrays herself as a cow in the comic strips! Okay... that was off topic but seriously love the author who makes jokes at her own expense.
I love that in this second volume we learn more about the Elric brothers beginning that brought them where they are now. It is gut wrenching as usual and you’ll need a ton of chocolate to get through it. Persevere! It’s totally worth it. You will cry. In fact I’ve heard that it continues to get darker as we continue with the series. Of course I’ll keep you updated!
I don’t usually read this genre, but as a first timer I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get started reading anime.
