„You make me feel like it’s possible. „Like everything is going to be okay again. Like I’m going to be okay.“
Chloe Walsh, why do you hate my emotional stability? Every character is so painfully traumatized and I eat it up like it’s my last meal. Gibsie and Claire were adorable and broke me in the best way - but Gibsie and Johnny’s friendship??? THAT was the real love story.
I laughed, I cried, I stared at the wall for ten minutes. I’m unwell. I need Lizzie and Hugh’s book asap.

DESCRIPTION
She's the quintessential sunshine girl. He's the lovable class clown.
But storm clouds are rolling in, and this Tommen boy is about to get serious.
Tommen's cheeky lad, Gerard "Gibsie" Gibson, is a comedian at heart, but underneath his happy-go-lucky-nature lurks a broken boy, tortured by the events of his past. Using humor to cope with his demons, Gibsie hides everything from the world.
Only one person knows who he truly is on the inside. His friend's little sister. His Claire-bear.
Enveloped in sunshine, Claire Biggs, has spent her whole life adoring the boy across the street. Her brother's friend. Seeing a side to Gerard that no one else sees, Claire is determined to tame her wild-at-heart childhood best friend.
But when the unexpected occurs and lines are crossed, will Gibsie and Claire's friendship survive? Will it blossom into something more, or will they lose themselves in the riptide?

REVIEW
★★★★☆
After not enjoying the six duo as much, I throughly enjoyed Claire and Gibsie’s story.
I thought that Gibsie’s story was handled sensitively, and I’m glad (although not under ideal circumstances) that he confided in Claire and the rest of the friend group.
I don’t agree that this is the weakest book of the series.

Every time I pick up a book from this series, I just know it’s going to break my heart every time. Does that stop me from reading them? No. Have I given every single book in this series 5 ⭐️ or higher? Absolutely. I can’t help it. I just LOVE these characters.

I loved seeing Johnny & Shannon and Joey & Aoife happy as they deserve. I loved the friendship that was displayed throughout the book. I love that Claire and Gibsie got the ending they deserve, even though the journey to get there was an incredible heavy one that I didn’t necessarily expect going into it because these two were so fun and lighthearted from what we’ve seen of them in books before this. But that doesn’t mean I was disappointed by any means. This book had some of the most heartbreaking scenes I’ve ever read, but also some of the most beautiful scenes between two people who love each other and are really just destined to be together and have been since the beginning of the series and I loved that for them
