It was definitely a quick read for me. But then, I tend to devour Nora Roberts books anyway. I like the story, and the idea behind the legacy. I will definitely be reading the rest in this series.

I very much enjoyed the Donovan family, Morgana's shop, and the sensuous descriptions found in this book. I was not as much a fan of the romantic lead, Nash. I look forward to reading more of the Donovan Legacy books to learn more about some other characters. This was my first Nora Roberts, and I enjoyed her vivid imagery and sensory details.

It was okay… I just couldn’t get into it until the last like 60-70 pages… thought it would be a quick read but alas, it was NOT. A lot of the “problems” and are manufactured. In the end, it just doesn’t make much sense. Maybe once I read the second on, the world building, plot building and overall story will begin to make sense.

I'm tired so this will be very brief. I thought this was Okay ~ not fantastic, but not horrible. This is the first Nora Roberts book I’ve read in years. I thought there could have been more development, bother with the characters and the settings but the story was only 197 pages so with that in mind it was all right. I’ll read the next in the series, just because you know how I am with those series books. I can’t just read the first one…and maybe the next one will be better.

Ahh Nora Roberts - you're one of those authors that usually feel like a comfort read and to be fair this had elements of that old familiarity. It was just unfortunate that it had a startling lack of anything else.
Plot? No
Character development? No
Anything even vaguely interesting? Pretty much no.
But I read the whole damn thing so that's on me. I think the only reason I didn't DNF this is because my covid infected ass was struggling to focus so reading something like this was at least easy.
Oh well, better luck next time I guess.

★★★☆☆ | Like a sandwich with too much bread: wherein an excess of magic and lust try valiantly to make up for the lack of plot and substance, and everything ends up somewhat dry and flavourless.
