Fun little story with Julie as the main character. Nice to see her thought processes. Perhaps to be expected since the main character is a teen, but the story is written much more like YA than the other novels in this series.

I knew Roland was going to be an interesting character. :)

Finally finished this one. It was good, it definitely did read like the final book of a series. And honestly I would be ok if it would have ended like this. But now I'm interested to see where the rest of the story goes. Especially since there's a lot of possibilities remaining.

A nice tidying up of several storylines, and a nice reunion of SO MANY of the series's recurring characters. It's so common for a series to drown in its own mythology, or feel the need to escalate each book with increasingly impossibly bad baddies (see, e.g., Supernatural) like GODS and our hero(es) miraculously still triumph. I like this
Spoiler"uh, well, sometimes you're just outclassed"
contrast.
But I really could have done without the extensive tour through Mishmar.

By far, my favorite urban fantasy series. I could keep reading these books forever and never get tired of this world or these characters.
