This one was okay. It took me a while to get into it then it ended.

Heiress Alone by Sophie Jordan
I liked this one. It was basically home alone but in a historical romance setting. The main character actually says I'm not like other girls. Ugh and the love interest described her body when they first met as built for pleasure. It was enjoyable but I wouldn't read from this author again.

Christmas in Central Park by Joanna Shupe
This one had so much potential I loved the beginning and I loved that we followed a working woman but it had the employee falls for boss trope. BARF. I hate this it's gross and has unequal power dynamics. He actually fires her when he gets mad at her. He's a rich heir she's struggling to support her mother and herself so by dating he holds all the cards to ruin her life. She also ends up being a virgin and he's a playboy who has never been tamed. AHHHHH. I hate that trope so much.

It’s Christmas week 2021 so it’s time to read a bunch of holiday cheer.

These novellas all bring a lot of happiness. The problem with novellas is they almost always by the nature of the book type are insta love which isn’t always my favorite and it’s probably why The Duke of Christmas Present worked the best for me as the one that was a second chance romance with angst. But these 4 ladies are some of my favorite writers in the romance genre so this was guaranteed to be enjoyable reading for me.
lighthearted medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes

I'd sell my soul for Sarah MacLean's short story. But I'm sorry to say the others didn't work for me.

cute, didnot like, c-uute!!,meh (exactly as Im finding JS's books so far).
emotional lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

A perfectly serviceable anthology. If you like the authors you’ll like the book.

I will likely read this every Christmas. Really good novellas based on favorite Christmas movies, and all have a running shortbread joke.
