"Meet Me in Mayfair" by Tessa Dare - 4.5 Stars
"The Duke of Christmas Present" by Sarah MacLean - 5 Stars
"Heiress Alone" by Sophie Jordan - 1 Star
"Christmas in Central Park" by Joanna Shupe - 1.5 Stars

Ugh. I'm so sad. I absolutely adored the first 2 stories in this collection and was so happy! And then the last 2 stories happened. I would just suggest skipping those 2. But the Tessa Dare and Sarah MacLean stories are so worth it!

A great collection of Christmas themed stories! I really enjoyed Tessa Dare's story. Sarah MacLean's was really heavy, but very well written (and I loved the Dickensian allusions). I absolutely adored Sophie Jordan's! Hers was a surprise find for me. Joanna Shupe's was probably my least favorite, but that doesn't mean it was bad! All the stories in this collection are great and each are worth reading.

How the Dukes Stole Christmas is an anthology of four different romance stories based around Christmas.
Ratings for each story:
Meet Me In Mayfair by Tess Dare - 5/5 Stars
The Duke of Christmas Present by Sarah MacLean - 4.75/5 Stars
Heiress Alone by Sophie Jordan - 4.75/5
Christmas in Central Park by Joanna Shupe - 5/5 Stars
This was a really amazing anthology for me to read as I have only read one author in this anthology and that was Tessa Dare. This book gave me the chance to read a bit of the author's works and made my TBR even longer cause I loved each story for different reasons. There was always an element of wit and headstrong female characters in each story. I will be going story by story for this review.
Meet Me In Mayfair by Tessa Dare:
Louisa has to find a Duke to marry so her family won't lose their home but when a series of mishaps lands her with the very duke who is trying to take away her family's home, she takes him on an adventure in Mayfair.
As I said in my update, I want more of this story! I loved the family that surrounded our heroine, Louisa. I though that they were big and boisterous but also so fun to read from. Louisa was a character who I connected to very quickly and, as usual with Tess Dare, there was some scenes that made me laugh out loud. I thought she did an amazing job condensing this story into the pages she had and I loved every minute of it.
The Duke of Christmas Present by Sarah MacLean
Lady Jacqueline Mosby and Eben, the Duke of Allryd have been friends since childhood. But when Eben scorned Jack, she left him. Twelve years later, she is back and Christmas might be the time to explore what could have been.
All I can say is friends to lovers for the win. Sarah MacLean's writing was one that I really loved and found super accessible. I was invested in the story from the start and couldn't wait to see what antics she had in store for these characters. Her story was very sweet and I loved how the two clashed against each other but at the end of the day you could tell they cared for each other. Also the Aunt in this was the best. I left this story knowing I need to read more Sarah MacLean books and luckily I own a few and have even more on my TBR.
Heiress Alone by Sophie Jordan
This takes place in the highlands of Scotland when Annis Ballister finds herself stranded by her family. The grumpy duke who owns an estate nearby takes her and her servants in to protect them from brigades and she finds herself drawn to him.
My first Scottish romance and was it a good one! First off, Sophie Jordan made me laugh out loud several times in this story. I really enjoyed the heroine, Annis. I thought that she was really interesting to read from and I liked that she was someone who never thought she would get married. She has a very overbearing mother and I loved seeing her come up against the expectations of society at that time. Of course, a grumpy duke is always a fun time and I really loved this story!
Christmas in Central Park by Joanna Shupe
Rose Walker has been writing an advice column pretending to be a married woman who gives the best advice about household matters even though she doesn't know how to boil water. When she is tasked by her boss, Duke Havermeyer to throw a party to impress some of the superiors, she finds herself in a mess that might bring her closer to Duke and the truth getting out.
I know I have read a few books set in America during a historical time period but this made me wan tot read more. I have heard that Joanna Shupe is the queen of American Historical Romances. I can see why now as this story sucked me right in. OF course the circumstances of America versus Britain are somewhat the same but also different and I loved seeing how she handled it. I really loved this story. Rose was such a strong character who did whatever she wanted and did pretty much everything for her mother. I found her to be a characters ho I related to the most and that I adored. I also really liked Duke and the clever play of getting him to fit into this anthology. I need to read more Joanna Shupe.
Overall, thsi was a great introduction to authors I hadn't read before and one that I had already read. I can see this being a book I go back to time and again, especially during the holidays. I am so happy I picked this up and can't wait to read more from all of these authors.

I would not use this book as a way to gauge if you want to read anything else by the authors. I'm not usually someone who reads books centered around. Christmas but I thought I might find a couple new authors to check out based on this anthology - even the stories by the authors I have read at least five books by each were not accurate representations of their writing prowess. There's a recipe at the end of the book if anyone is interested in it. I listened to it in the background and as an audiobook I can say that the narrator did a good job.
