Alex and Ren reach London to continue tracking down Alex's mother and locate the next Death Walker, but nothing is ever as easy as it seems and there are a whole lot of challenges waiting for them.

This was another enjoyable read that will appeal to multiple age ranges. The friendship of Ren and Alex will be tested as Alex explores his newfound health and powers. There are intense moments that may be overwhelming for young 'uns but help up the ante for the older readers.

I read it faster than my reading partner which is driving me nuts cause I want to discuss a few predictions I have for the series, but eh, we'll get there. This is a great read to draw your late elementary/junior highers into the world of reading and exploring ancient lore. Would recommend this series.

Book #51 Read in 2015
Tombquest 2: Amulet Keepers by Michael Northrop

This is the second book in a young adult adventure series. Alex, his friend Ren and his cousin Luke are in London to find the second Death Walker and see if they can locate Alex's mother. They are almost immediately in danger and need to work together in order to survive. This series has a lot of Egyptian connection in it and its plot has lots of twists and turns to keep readers engaged. The third book comes out in the fall. I received a copy of this book from the Amazon Vine program in exchange for a honest review.

These are decent stories and the Egyptian theme and legends always appeal to me, but there's something a tiny bit underwhelming in these books. It could be because they remind me of a B-rate spinoff of Rick Riordan's Kane Chronicles which are so wonderful that maybe my opinion is skewed here.

Not quite as enjoyable as the first, but still a cute story with good enough characters.
