22-ish volumes into Black Clover and looking back, I would say this volume is right around the point where the series entered 4-star territory with satisfying shonen arcs landing one after another. The first volume was kind of annoying, then the next ten volumes or so settled into an average feeling, then the series began to sing with this storyline and really hasn't let up since then. As with many battle shonen, it shines brightest once the cast gets expanded and everyone gets to take turns showing off and addressing barriers from their backstories.

I really liked the whole volume. Not sure how I feel about Mars playing puppet master, but we'll see. I like how Fana's arc played out and can't wait to see her again. Upon completing the mission they all return home with the Witch Queen's help/favor. I still want to know what Nero's deal is!! Once home a festival is held and we see old friends again. During the festival a LOT happens with Noelle and she keeps developing and being my favorite character.
