Creative, funny, and replete with satisfying callouts to a different work (won't spoil the fun by naming it). This book was a pleasure to read!

It was the first book by Ian McEwan I've read, but it won't be the last.

I can only review this book based on the audio version, which sets a tone based on the narrator's voice and the tone. It was well written and unique, but not for everyone.

It's certainly entertaining but I don't know that I loved it the way I love other Ian McEwan books and I didn't find myself desperate to get back to it. In saying that though, it's so quirky that I'd still recommend it. Definitely 3.5 stars or even closer to 4. Just can't rate it higher as it just lacked something that really grabbed me. Vague and weird review, weird book!
