I had a great time listening to this!

If I was to describe this book in one word it would be 'horny'

I really loved both main characters and how opposite they appeared at first and how different they were. I loved that they both brought each other out of their shells and we're doing things they were uncomfortable with just because they loved the other person

I really liked the inclusion of social media posts and news articles at the end of each chapter from other people talking about their relationship, it was so fun and unique

I wish we saw more of them together post 3rd act break up

I enjoyed the narration for the most part, however I did struggle at times to work out who was talking (just by the sound of the narrators voice) or if parts were being spoken or they were just thoughts

- fake dating
- famous ex footballer X ghost writer
- British main characters

Thank you to Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for the ALC - all opinions are my own

I usually love a good enemies to lovers trope but this one fell flat for me. Mabel and Alfie were totally oblivious and half of the story wouldn’t have happened if either of them just said how they truly felt in the first place. Honestly, the characters annoyed me and I was counting down until it was over.

Sweet spicy romcom, grumpy sunshine trope. Funny and entertaining, a quick read. He’s a retired soccer star, she’s a ghostwriter

i really wanted to like this. the idea was good, the writing was so bad. it was like an unedited stream of consciousness. i made myself finish it but by the end i was really just skimming it.

First off, thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

OUTLIER ALERT!! 🎶It's me!🎶 The synopsis for this book sounded incredible and I was super excited to read it. I mean who doesn't love a grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, opposites attract and fake dating tropes!?! Plus the cover is so cute!!! Unfortunately, it makes me very sad to admit that this one did not work for me at all. Ugh, I kept reading hoping it would get better but that never happened. So what were my issues with the story? The extremely lengthy dialogues that just seemed to drag on for forever and ever, immature banter that was over the top and hard to follow (legit 95% of the book) and the dreadful and constant miscommunication. Honestly, I do not recommend this book.

✨I know many people will love this book so please do not base your decision to read this book solely on my review.✨
