The hype is real. Such a beautiful book. I thought this would be a more challenging book for me due to personal experience with the subject matter (and it was tough in spots, especially the first chapter), but the main problem for me was how hungry this book made me!

I can't totally relate because I've never had to care for a terminally ill loved one but the descriptions of the food and culture got to me.

I think parts of it are really beautiful and deeply emotional writing. The other parts (food descriptions) I just could not care about.
I think it's a book that you'd get if you got and won't if you didn't.
It wasn't bad, but I probably won't read it again.
