Fair. Not quite the high-octane undersea adventure I was expecting. Parts were wordy and slow. Too much exposition and the plot seemed threadbare with random events thrown in, apparently heading nowhere and getting nowhere.

The book was slow for me. There wasn't a lot that happened in the story, and it was incredibly science forward. I found it interesting, but at times it did see to drag on with explanation/descriptions of scientific topics.

I just CANNOT get myself to care. I’ve had this book since I was in middle school and constantly tried to read it. I made it about halfway before deciding not to put myself through the misery anymore. I know it’s a classic, but I just can’t do this to myself anymore.
