This the 2nd book in the Doctor series. We meet the first of the Cove brothers in Dr Off Limits. Dr Perfect features the Zach Cove. From the first book we know that the Cove family are well known in the medical community, and they all love working in the medical field. Except Zach doesn’t anymore.
Ellie is his new assistant that helps him rediscover what he is passionate about, all while stuck on a remote Scottish island in a one bed cottage! Ellie is recently ending a relationship where she has manipulated over several years. In this book we see Ellie learn from her past experiences and grow into the woman she wants to become.

Ellie is just coming out of a verbally abusive relationship and is trying to get her life back on track. She loves to cook and bake and her dream is to go to Cordon Bleu and become a chef. She takes a job as a secretary for Dr. Zach Cove as nothing else is available. Thinking this job is going to be something to keep her busy, it’s the exact opposite. Dr. Cove is doing what he thinks he should be doing by opening a private practice, when in reality he hates being a doctor.
While Ellie notices how gorgeous her new boss is she also finds him kind of strange because he won’t do what he needs to do to get patients and he keeps himself locked in his office doing who knows what.
In a twist they find themselves on a small Scottish island in a small cabin during a snowstorm. It’s during this that Zach can’t deny his feeling for Ellie anymore. Ellie clearly has baggage from her ex that she has to work through and it’s because Zach is so understanding and caring that she is finally able to. This book was sexy and sweet and a little sad because Ellie’s ex was such a jerk. I tore through the book though, it was hard to put down.

Diese Hörbücher sind einfach so schnell zu hören. Sie sind kurz, nicht zu deep oder ernst und machen einfach Spaß. Es kommen immer wieder altbekannte Charaktere vor, auch aus anderen Reihen von ihr. Sie kann einfach gute Freundschaftsdynamiken schreiben und irgendwie sind alle ihre Charaktere sympathisch. Ich hab btw noch nie eins der Bücher gelesen sondern immer die deutschen Hörbücher gehört. Es wäre eigentlich auch mal spannend die Geschichten im Original zu lesen.
In diesem Buch geht es um Zack und Ally (keinen Schimmer ob die so geschrieben werden, hab’s ja nur gehört und bin zu faul um nachzuschauen). Zack ist, wie fast alle in seiner Familie, Arzt (Gastroenterologe) aber er hasst es und will lieber Schriftsteller sein. Er plant trotzdem am Anfang des Buches, seine eigene Praxis zu eröffnen und stellt dafür Ally als seine Praxishilfe ein. Ally hat sich gerade von ihrem Ex Shane getrennt der irgendeinen Rennsport (nicht F1) beruflich macht und sie war quasi seine Managerin. Er hat sie betrogen und jetzt sucht sie einen neuen Job ohne richtige Referenzen oder eine Ausbildung. Eigentlich will sie an dir Kochschule in London, kann es sich aber nicht leisten. Deswegen fängt sie bei Zack an. Naja er kommt wieder ins Schreiben, das mit der Praxis geht nicht voran und Ally fängt an, sich zu wundern. Dann werden sie irgendwann eingeschneit und es passiert was passieren muss. Es war wirklich ganz cute, vor allen die Szenen, wo sie zusammen auf einer Insel in Schottland eingeschneit sind. Auch die Familie von Zack ist immer wieder fun. Es war für mich trotzdem etwas schwächer als der erste Teil. Und obviously werde ich jetzt direkt den nächsten Band hören, weil die sich so gut Bingen lassen.

She just got out of a bad relationship and is more skittish with love. I love how smart and talented she is! These two get snowed in a small cabin together and the sparks fly! Ellie absolutely loves to cook and make others happy. Zach makes her feel beautiful and appreciated in ways she's never had. I love the secret project that Zach is working on. It changes his life!
