I like the beginning of the book, especially Harker’s journal, but the middle has a lot of unnecessary yap. Mostly about this stupid
Lucy and her sleepwalking.
The ending has a lot of unnecessary yap as well— could have been cut short.
One of my least favourite classics unfortunately.

I'm so happy Red from Overly Sarcastic Productions did a reading of this because she added such good commentary (and tea breaks).
I really enjoyed this book and discovering a classic, written over 120 years ago - before blood types were discovered, which means it's impressive the blood transfusions worked in this book.
It was more of a group adventure than I thought it would be - they formed a team and went to go take down the enemy who simply wanted to buy real estate in London.

The form of the book as an epistolary novel can be tiresome sometimes. It is also a bit misogynistic, and over-sentimental. But nonetheless a fascinating and thrilling story! The 1922 movie Nosferatu I watched last year makes a lot more sense to me now. The first part is more a travelogue, very enticing, it triggered me to start planning a vacation by train to visit some of these old German-Hungarian-Romanian towns in Transylvania this summer. The fact that the Dutch Professor Abraham Van Helsing is not talking in a real Dutch accent can be a bit distracting for a Dutch reader. 3½ stars.
it would have been better if it was shorter. cut to the chase my man. there’s so much irrelevant events that can be omitted. otherwise, a good book!
