I gotta say, I thought this was pretty funny. You have to be okay with dark humor and I do think Moldavsky can do with a stricter editing as parts of this (and Kill the Boy Band) dragged, but it's funny, awkward, and whip smart.

A quick, quirky, and funny read, perfect for your summer TBR. With an original plot and all sorts of kooky characters I constantly found myself chuckling out loud.
The story revolves around a summer camp for teen activists. The summer starts out normal enough, albeit with the exception of an eccentric celebrity camper, but things quickly turn to wild antics and camper sabotage when a holy grail of a prize is announced. Moldavsky wraps this one up with just the right amount of heartwarming camaraderie.

A really different book. Quirky story line. Would so appeal to 7th & 8th grade students.
I wanted to love this book. I was really into the set-up, with all of the jokes about young activists and junior social justice warriors. There were parts of it that were so good, but I felt like it got so tangled up with the love story or friendship story in the middle and lost some of the focus that I was looking for. If the weight had been a little more in favour of Gregor figuring out what the deal is with changing the world and trying to understand how to do that as a young person in a world that puts so much value on money and power, this book would have been amazing. Because it turned into a love story with that as the background, I would say I only liked it. The parts that were good were super funny and seemed very real. The parts that were about this kid fumbling his way through his first love distracted from this.
I got a free ARC of this book at BookCon from the publisher.

I have to give this book a solid 3 because the first half I just wasn't interested. I blame the way I was reading the book, as I feel I am a very sarcastic person so I felt like every dialogue line I read was deadpan sarcasim. Which was a bit much for my preference since I can be extremely sarcastic. I liked the friendship development between Ashley and Gregor. Because I'm sure at some point in everyone's life you had that one person in your life you initially didn't like and ended up being best friends with them. Other than that the whole book was wacky, and would make a great Netflix mini series!
This was a wacky, wild ride. Really enjoyable and great pacing.
Gregor goes to "Camp Save the World", a 5-week summer camp, thinking he'll meet his hero Robert Drill, the camp's founder who's a tech CEO and philanthropist. Unfortunately not only is Drill nowhere to be seen, but some of the other campers and counselors don't seem to be taking this very seriously...

Probably the most funniest book i have ever read. Came off really random and fresh as far as characters and story line. I did feel a shift in 1/3 way in the book. Got more romance vibs, but at 2/3 it shifted back to focusing more on camp. Highly recommended!
