need so many more books set in this world. I love these characters and I love the way this author writes

I feel kind of bad giving this a low rating, especially since the author’s acknowledgement was essentially a shrug emoji saying she struggled throughout this and almost gave up. I really liked her other books so it was disappointing and unfortunately felt half-baked, and the Nina Hill characters felt like parodies of themselves in this story…

There is a fun cast of characters in the group home, and the book has glimmers of Waxman’s classic wittiness and one-liners. However, the writing drifts in and out of different POVs, sometimes in the same paragraph, which can be disorienting. And the sequel lacked a luster and drive that kept the reader engaged in the original Nina Hill book.

A nice and fun read, did end a little bit abruptly though.

Dialog was very off for where and when it's supposed to be taking place
