I was so excited to get more of Cooper and Park in THE WOLF AT BAY especially because their romantic relationship was left pretty unresolved in the last book. Compared to book 1, this was focused a lot more on Cooper and Park's relationship and I enjoyed watching these two idiots fumble around with their feelings. Cooper especially is at peak uncommunicative and boy does he put his foot in it a few times. But it was nice to read a romance where the characters struggle a bit more with accepting their feelings, not just of love, but also feeling vulnerable and completely open with a partner.
I really liked that we got to understand Cooper more and I especially enjoyed all the personal growth he goes through as he begins to mend his relationship with his family. Cooper has been keeping a lot of secrets from his father and brother and he's also negatively influenced by a lot of childhood memories and impressions. There was a lot of dysfunction here but it was nice to see it start to heal. We also learn a little bit more about Park's family and I devoured those little tidbits because Park is still quite the mystery. Overall, I really enjoyed this follow up and I can't wait to learn more about Park in the next book.

God I love this series so much. Cooper and Oliver’s banter and conversations really just make this entire series worth it. So good, honestly. I’m actually staving off reading the next books just so I don’t have to finish the series.
As much as I loved this book, I did think the mystery lacked a little, mostly the ending part of it. So if you’re reading this for the mystery aspect, you might be a little disappointed. The resolution just felt sort of rushed, like when a character just figures the whole thing out - seemingly out of nowhere. However, the whole mystery surrounding Park? Perfect. Loved it.
The one other (extremely minor and personal) issue I had was once again was the whole ‘side characters ship the main characters’. This is just really a me problem.
However I will say that I did love the side characters. I loved reading about Cooper and his family. I thought the whole bit with his dad was well done and really natural. Loved it.
Also, Park getting seasick? Loved it.

I love Cooper and Park's relationship so much, and the peek into Cooper's family life was really nice. Unfortunately, the wrapping up of the mystery in this one felt abrupt. A lot was juggled in this book.

A great continuation that also made me want to put my head through a wall because Cooper is so emotionally constipated that it genuinely hurt sometimes, but the growth this dumb ass goes through was so well written. I am in awe of how Adhara manages to make me love this character so much while he does everything possible to annoy me to death. The depth that’s explored with Cooper’s family was great and really added to who he is and why he acts this way, but that didn’t make him less frustrating at times. I think it also should just how gone for him Oliver is, which did make me swoon a bit, I’ll admit.
Speaking of Oliver, we also learned more about him, his background, and werewolves in this world by extension. All of it just made me thirsty for more, honestly. If I didn’t have to start prioritizing books for videos, you bet your ass I would have kept reading this series!
