The story was interesting and I enjoyed the concept/idea behind the superpowers. However, the "villian" of the novel's reasoning behind the actions seemed somewhat silly. Also, the obsession with LA and the characters attitudes struck me as flat/forced. A sassy girl who doesn't work well with others in love with a big city is just not a troupe I love. Overall, I enjoyed the book and it kept me turning page after page to figure out what was going to happen. A solid start to a (hopefully!) good series.

3.5 ⭐️ Decent read, with an interesting plot and characters. Felt a little disjointed at points, but overall entertaining.

I don’t know if it was just me, but by halfway through the book I was sure the person who wrote it was from the UK, not LA where the book was set (between British spellings of “kerb” (curb) and mentions of “but you’re an AmErIcAn CiTiZeN” it made me laugh 😅).

Wasnt my cup of tea. The focus on romance seemed like an afterthought. I finished not feeling much for the main character. Ending was a mix of predictable and tropey.
