This one was an entertaining enough read that I likely will have trouble remembering in a few weeks. There isn’t really anything wrong with it; it’s adventurous, fun, and hot, but it just isn’t enough of any of those things to really stand out. I also remember laughing more while reading the first book. Still, this one is a quick, hot read if you’re in the mood for something on the lighter side.

I am definately putting Christina Lauren on my permanent TBR list after this amazing book. The characters were not only amazingly complex, but the witty banter preceding the amazing sex scenes gives this book 5 stars for me. Highly recommend.

The audio narrator had more of an Irish accent than British but that didn’t stop me from loving the book!

4.5 Stars - REREAD!

In my old age and in my personal experience with MF, I can truly say just how much I appreciate the early works of CLo, and I’m sad that they’ve deviated from this wonderful formula. The initial three books in this series are extremely sexy, detailed, varied, and eye opening - not to mention seriously sophisticated without resorting to crudeness, crassness, or over the top eye rolling ridiculousness that many MF’s these days can devolve into as they sacrifice plot without being as titillating as this is.

Of course, no one can really usurp Bennett, the original [b:Beautiful Bastard|16102004|Beautiful Bastard (Beautiful Bastard, #1)|Christina Lauren|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1362258921l/16102004._SY75_.jpg|21912533], but Max makes a solid effort. Sara is a strong character despite the 3rd act torturous breakup that all CLo books seem to subject us to. However, I forgive that small snafu as this is pure class, and I highly recommend readers to revisit this series or try it for the first time!!

If you suspend your disbelief for the duration of this book, it's a pretty good time.
