I'm not crying, you're crying.

DNF a little under the 50% mark

I didn't stop this book because there was anything wrong with the book. The writing is visceral and powerful as is the story. I'm just not mentally in a place to read it.

i really enjoyed this, i loved how food was the main language Michelle and her mum connected and conversed in. it was a bit confusing at the beginning of the book, with the weaving of different time points and themes, but after a while, with background information, it became super easy to read.

Beautifully written and moving. Zauner makes an entire culture (viewed through its cuisine) accessible to all. Her depictions of grief are poignant

I enjoyed this very much. I liked Michelles style of writing. The way she described her relationship to her mother was extremely beautiful and relatable to most daughters I’m sure.
