What Kind of Woman is filled with short, accessible, woman-centred, relatable poems. Themes include marriage, motherhood and body image. Some are pointed, others tender but all up an enjoyable collection.

I devoured this book so quickly, I'm going to have to go back and re-read it again soon. I loved Baer's poetry, centering around relationships, marriages, and motherhood all from the perspective of being a woman. While a lot of the poems feature specific references to her own life, they were often punctuated with relatable lines that hit with a force. I enjoyed getting to know Baer's life, and her perspective and observations, and found myself reading her poems out loud to friends.

Kate Baer's poetry is phenomenal. I read this in one sitting and I want to tell every woman I know to read this book--but also everyone else too. There are lines from this collection that will stay with me forever.
