Not to sound like every other review on this book but it didn't nearly measure up to the first two installations of the Whimbrel House series. There were times throughout [b:Boy of Chaotic Making|125373512|Boy of Chaotic Making (Whimbrel House, #3)|Charlie N. Holmberg|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1696009452l/125373512._SY75_.jpg|146431670] in which I felt as though I was reading a children's book but then immediately received whiplash when the topic of sex was discussed. I enjoy [a:Charlie N. Holmberg|7801879|Charlie N. We get a happy ending for Merritt and Hulda and get to watch Owein's progression from child-like to adult mentality. I'm not sure if Holmberg was teasing a fourth book in the series, but I do feel as though a lot of loose ends were not tied up and too many new plots were introduced for the storyline to end here. I'll be interested in seeing where the story goes from here.

A fun conclusion to a lighthearted and entertaining series. I enjoyed the characters, and the story was interesting without needing too much energy to follow. The author paced things quickly, and the humor and atmosphere were engaging. The magic system and the world building are creative.

The book is not trying to be complicated or impressive. Instead, it’s trying to entertain and it succeeded. I will happily read more from this author!
