YUP
The last third of this novel is *chefs kiss*

2nd time reading:

it's crazy to think that it's been almost 4 years since the first time i read this, and the imagery and feelings that this book still manages to bring.

reading it in college feels like a full-circle moment kinda. i just adore this book and its language. and learning about hurston's history this time around before reading it also deepened my love for this.

are some situations bordering on melodramatic? maybe. but it's just still so good and to me it all works when pieced together that i can only think about the next time that i have time to read this again (later on in the semester for my other class lol)

Well, this was a totally unexpected surprise! Hooked up within few pages, this was great from the beginning to the end. It definitely isn't the last time I'm reading this.

I really liked this book, but I didn't love it. It definitely gave me some different perspectives and I loved Janie. I really loved that she was older when she found what she wanted from life. There were a few tangents about random characters that I didn't understand at all.
