This man was so damn gifted. SO damn gifted. Funny and smart and socially relevant and full of memorable characters. It surprises me, though, that my two favourites in the book (Cheri and Dorfl) aren't the ones I remember my friends talking about. Still, I guess it goes to show, these books are jam-packed with wonderful.

There’s nothing new that I can say about how awesome and funny Terry Pratchett is. Read him.

This is simply a tentative review of my first experience with this book. With multiple threads and characters pulling the narrative in many different directions, it was almost guaranteed that I'd get lost eventually. Granted, I caught most of the themes of Artificial Intelligence and discrimination. The characters do that well enough!

The main issue was my reading style. I'd pick the book up for a week, and forget about some of the detail when I picked it up again a week after. I'm confident when I read this over in a few years time, that the extra star will be there.
