As someone who has seen the movies before I read the books I have to say, the reason I like them so much, is that they are so different and more reasonable than the movies. I don't have the experience people have when they read the books, not knowing what is going to happen. Despite most people saying it lacks a good ending or it is structured poorly, I enjoyed every part of it. Especially because I hate the ending in the 3rd movie, although I think the endin in the book makes way more sense.

So if you have seen the movies and you want to know how the actual story goes, you should read it. Otherwise I guess you might be disappointed.

This one wasn't as good as the Scorch Trials or Maze Runner, but was a satisfying end to the series. It felt a bit rushed at the end, like too much plot had to happen to wrap it up. So much shit went down with almost no elaboration.
Again, I felt that the romance was forced and that the whole hatred between the girls was silly and unneeded.
Surprisingly violent and graphic, not that I'm complaining, because it made it more realistic. But you always expect a level of censorship for YA novels but the list of deaths in this one is staggering.
It was kind of cute that the boys kept getting into really dumb and stupid situations even after everything they had been through.

Newt's death was absolutely traumatizing. I knew that he died bc of I watched all the movies first. But the DIALOGUE???? THE NOTE??? Ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ohhhhhhhh I'm in agony...fuck I loved that character
Fuck Theresa I could not care less. A lil disappointed her death was so gross
Loved how Tommy and Gally made up <3
Deaths in this one: Crushed by rocks, Swiss cheese by machine gun, cannibalism, sawed into pieces, kebabed by a greiver, cut throat by glass, run over by car, shot point blank, All on screen bby

I am very disappointed with James Dashner. This was a horrible book. Plot wise, he had a great idea. The Maze Runner is an amazing book. But he failed in his mission. This book is nothing but trash for the heap. The characters have no development, and therefore major plot points have no affect on the reader because the characters are unlovable and cannot be related to. Newt dying was literally the worst. Because there was no point. And Thomas didn't even grow from that. He stayed the exact same. Thomas, THE MAIN CHARACTER, has literally no character development through books 1-3. I can somewhat understand in book 1, but in books 2 and 3 not to help him realize his flaws at all?? There is no hero in this book. No one really wins. They are all people lacking morals. I would not recommend this book to anyone.
