I am giving this a four star fully because I got lost in the story and really enjoyed it. That happens so rarely with me. This book was tricky because it had a lot of tropes that can be problematic for me, the asshole doctor, the man whore and the emotional male infant. The hero was all of these things but somehow I still liked him. He redeemed himself with deep vulnerability, effort and a huge grovelling scene, I love a good grovel after a dude effs up.
Kendra was a good heroine too, she was pretty, popular and ambitious and had her sh*t together. She was brave and didn’t take crap from Westin and made him come to her to grovel in the end. But she was also vulnerable and soft, which also was one reason I found her so brave. The thing that would have made this book better IMO was not making Westin a man whore, I’m just over that. He could have been a brooding, emotionally unavailable asshat who didn’t stick his d*ck in every wet hole. It’s possible authors, stop writing the man whore, no one likes this guy and irl no one wants a piece of a guy like this. I mean herpes, right?
Anyway good story, not too long, satisfying ending...I needed this.

I know books like this aren’t meant to be realistic but can you imagine doing a “make-up for being an asshole love proclamation” at your brothers $150k+ Napa wedding? Lmao. I’d literally stick them with the bill.
