WOW. This might be the first Sav. R. Miller that I've truly enjoyed and I think it's everything to do with the MMC. Alistair can get it any day of the week tbh.

But the thing that struck me the most what his obvious and unapologetic desire and attraction to Cora. I love a brooding and slow burn story but it's so refreshing to see a man openly talking about his feelings and making them known, you know?

I also feel like the darkness was balanced in this one. Cora is no damsel in distress and gets toe to toe with Alistair on a daily. She's a badass and adds to the dark element instead of simply accepting it.

The pacing felt a bit slow for the first half of the book but THAT PLOT TWIST at the end made it absolutely worth it. Seriously, mind blown. if
