This was one of the best in the series. I liked the sub plots and I also enjoy the text banter in these books

Such a cute ending to the Magnolia Falls series! I adored Hayes and Savannah. I loved their childhood best friends to lovers arc it was honestly adorable! I’m sad that this series is now over, but I’ve loved every second!

2.5⭐️ okay, so I was not a fan of this book. There were a couple things that weren’t bad, hence the half star, but way too much irritated me. This will probably be a long review and probably not the type of review most people look for, but I gotta get my irritations out😬

I do NOT like a bad miscommunication trope— i don’t know how to explain a bad vs good miscommunication trope, but that’s beside the point. I was highly irritated the whole first half with Savannah. Hayes was supposed to be her BEST friend. One that she knew better than anyone, trusted more than anyone, and she trusted his manipulative girlfriend (one she KNEW was awful and manipulative) over him? Completely shut him out and didn’t talk to him for TEN YEARS without even explaining ANYTHING to him? Like wtf? Sure, she had stuff going on and she was a teen but still. Then she tried to just sweep it under the rug when she came back and Hayes mentioned her just up and leaving and him not knowing why. Like grow up. Tell him instead of accusing him of knowing when he clearly didn’t.

Another thing that just ticked me off— Savannah’s mom. There is nothing that irritates me more in life than someone who cheats on her husband and when caught, pulls the victim card instead of owning up to the consequences of her actions. Wants everyone to just be happy with her choices because “she’s happy”. This one is probably one of my highest irritations about this book just because I felt this on such a personal level as a daughter of someone just like this.

Some things just came up out of nowhere and never got talked about again, too— like how Hayes only got engaged to Kate because she told him she was pregnant but ended up not being pregnant, but he still stayed with her until she cheated? Like wouldn’t lying about a pregnancy be a pretty big deal breaker? And why wouldn’t you tell your now wife about it? It’s just weird. Also, why did Savannah’s mom send the letters back to Hayes? Why do we never find out why she did this?

Also, and this is probably not a very popular opinion, but I wasn’t a huge fan of Cutler. I know, I know, how could I not like a kid character? I usually love when kids are an active minor character. I think they add so much to a story, but he just made me roll my eyes too much. I feel like the author was just trying too hard to make him a funny kid, like he was a mini babe magnet (but not in that cutesy way some kids are) when none of his male role models were like that. Like why was he written like this? I didn’t mind him in his dad’s book, but all the other ones, I just wasn’t a fan😅

Savannah’s dad was probably my favorite person in the book. My favorite line in the whole book was from him when he’s arguing with her mom about the affair, and it’s “Do you hear yourself? You are the one who did the crime. You are supposed to have consequences, our daughter is not” (pg 130). Chills because I felt that soooo much.

Anyways, I’m not saying the book was completely awful, but I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends as a must read.
If you want to read it, go for it! I hope you like it better than I did.

this series as a whole was not great, but this book was especially bad. the dialogue was really robotic in some places, and like always the plot fell flat.

I can't believe this is the last book in the series. I've loved this series since the beginning. This awesome group of friends will always have a piece of my heart. Hayes and Savannah's story was the best way to end this series on. They were best friends years ago and you can tell right off the bat the years apart couldn't snap the connection between them. Hayes will do anything for Savannah and he is gonna prove it. It made me so happy for these two to reconnect and see what could have been long ago. Though Hayes has some inner demons to work through his ride or die friends are there every step of the way. Savannah has so much going on, but she gets a glimpse of a life she always dreamed of. The epilogue left me with a huge smile on my face. I can't recommend this book enough. It gives you all the heart and feels with a great sense of humor and the heat. A must read!!!
