An emotional read. Heartbreaking.
Loved the ending, even though it was painful.

This book pulled my heart out of my chest and ripped to pieces before stamping on it. Its an intense look at how peoples flaws can make them or break them. It also looks at the effects the people we surround ourselves with have on us.

it was trope-y which can be good if that’s what you like. some of the writing was beautiful, but some made me cringe. i mostly walked away with positive feelings. you knew the stakes early in. one of the top 3 most powerful lines for me -
The tears spilled over and her shoulders crumpled at the weight of her life that fit entirely in one small duffel.

✨ no spoilers

i’m not going to waste any time; this book was really quite good. the only setback is i was told i would cry and i didn’t haha

a lot of things made this relationship tremendous tho. i feel like they both gave so much into each other, and both very obviously needed the other person to intervene in their lives. it was honestly beautiful knowing the ending, and still having them give their all. and also the amount of COMMUNICATION was mind blowing. jonah and kacey never fought, they always talked through everything, and i honestly just applauded the author for not putting us in random loops of miscommunication bc she understood it was unnecessary.

absolutely beautiful book, and definitely recommend as a heart wrenching love story. soo excited for the sequel tho bc i guessed the plot and i was RiGhT 😁

triggers
[death, alcoholism, slight drug and sex abuse, etc.]

[YALL I GUESSED THE PLOT FOR THE SEQUEL i heard it fixed book one and i didn’t get it but now that FRIGGIN TEDDY LOVES HER ITS GENIUS THIS AUTHOR IS GENIUS bc no one could understand her unlike theo, and al throughout the book they still have their own bond, it just makes so much sense. absolute GENIUS]
