melancholy and sweet. the ending hits in such a lovely way, and furlong is a delightful character to read about.

This is a beautiful story but I read it at the wrong time. I would love to read more of Claire Keegan's work but at a right time and not while trying to get out of a reading slump when everything annoys you.
