I really wanted to like this. I was so looking forward to this book when I picked it up. The problem is that it took way too long for the characters to develop into people and then the plot itself was incredibly contrived. The combination of the two basically resulted in a story where action was happening, but I didn't care about it, and I often didn't understand why the characters cared either.
